Our recruiters play a major role in supporting our travel nurses throughout their assignments. This week we’re featuring, Phillip Stovall, a Vero Healthcare Recruiter. Phillip joined the team last year & is originally from North Carolina. Keep reading to learn more about Phillip!

What’s been your favorite part of working at Vero so far?
The team we have at Vero. I love working with the Vero family!

Why did you choose a career in healthcare recruiting?
My mother had breast cancer in 2012, she would not be here with us if it weren’t for nurses that cared for her. I choose this career because I enjoy meeting new people every day and creating new friendships. It’s the best feeling, helping others find their dream assignment.

What advice do you have for a traveler looking for a recruiter?
Make sure that you “click” with your recruiter. A good working relationship is key! Also make sure you have at least 2+ years of experience prior to traveling so that you can find the best opportunities and be prepared.

When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
When I’m not working, I enjoy trying new things, new places etc. I enjoy taking trips on my motorcycle. Most people are surprised when I tell them I am a pilot too. I also love watching soccer! I love music and in my free time, I go to a lot of shows & festivals.

What’s the best concert you’ve seen live?
I’ve gone to a lot of concerts, so I don’t think I have a favorite. A lot of them blend together now. That being said every concert I saw in Austin Texas was amazing. One in particular was the time I saw a band called Electric Guest at an outdoor venue in Austin TX.

Where is your favorite place to travel and why?
I now no longer live near the beach, so my favorite place is to travel is any beach location. Regardless of whether it is back home in the OBX, Wilmington NC, Charleston SC, etc, I like the beach. I also like England. It has great culture, food, and soccer. I’ve spent multiple months in England before. My next bucket list destinations are Germany and Australia.

What’s something you absolutely cannot travel without?
I’m pretty easy going so I don’t need to have lots of things when I travel. BUT I get bad headaches, so I usually always carry Excedrin Migraine with me. I keep a bottle in my car, house, bookbags etc.

Stay connected with Phillip by email (pstovall@verorns.com) or on Facebook.
